Appa Paithiyam Samigal was a Siddha who lived in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.[1] He was born on Chithirai 8, 1859, as the heir of Karuvur Fort Zamin. At the age of sixteen, he left home and settled in Palani. He accepted a Siddha named Akhukku Swami as his guru and learned Siddhas.

He was called Paithiyam Sami because he claimed to be Paithiyam to his devotees, and he was called Appa Paithiyam Samigal because he fulfilled the requests of the devotees like a father. He stayed in countless towns and helped the devotees and attained Jeeva Samadhi on Thai 28, 2000 at the age of 141 in Sooramangalam, Salem.
